My tip for becoming a better engineer?

Get a dog!

Most of my best insights about the problems I solve at work have come to me on long walks through the woods with my dogs. I tend to use this time to reflect on the problem of the day. I’ll ruminate, mutter, and argue with myself until one of us wins.

I’ll often go take a walk when I need space to think through a solution. Some of the best engineers I know do too.

Engineering is fundamentally about solving problems.
